Saucer Be Gone! – Sora no Method Episode 2

The beginning of episode 2 puts us back in the realm of reality as Nonoka’s first day of school takes precedence over Noel and the wish she can supposedly fulfill. Nonoka’s first day of school proves rather interesting. The long haired girl from the first episode is still being cryptic and Nonoka encounters Yuzuki. Yuzuki is a girl vehemently dedicated to getting rid of the saucer and putting life back to the way it was before.

I feel it is important to talk about the fact that Yuzuki is kinda loud and Nonoka ends up getting dragged all over the place. I won’t say Yuzuki is selfish and only wants to talk about herself because it feels more like she is forgetful, as in she forgets to ask for anyone else’s opinion. She appears kind at heart and this is probably the reason Nonoka allows herself to be dragged along. It is evident that Nonoka could get away but instead she follows Yuzuki around even when she doesn’t want to do whatever it is Yuzuki has in mind.

At the end, however, Nonoka comes to understand that Yuzuki genuinely believes life would be better if the saucer was gone. Nonoka comes to value the friendship she has just made. This sparks the creation of what I dubbed the ‘Make-the-spaceship-go-away’ Brigade! Nonoka wastes no time in asking Noel if she will help, which makes Noel sad though Nonoka fails to notice. In the end Noel agrees to help and I’m left with a feeling of dread. I just think that if the saucer goes away so will Noel. And so, the plot thickens.

P.S. I really like the soundtrack so far. It reminds me a lot of Free! which is a good thing. I hope it remains this good throughout the whole series.
